INCREDIBLE ADVENTURES
One of the unique features of Anthem Growth Year is the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time in diverse cultural settings.
All travel, housing, and food expenses during these trips are covered in the total cost of the program.
International Missions Trips
Mexico | Students will get to be part of what God is doing in another culture during our weekend missions trip to Mexico.
Asia | On a short-term missions trip to Asia, students will be able to break free from their current routines in the United States to learn how to minister in an entirely different culture. Growth Year students will be working with Faith Community supported missionaries. The final location will be determined at a later date.
Israel
Students will have the amazing opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the geographical, historical, archaeological, and cultural understanding of the land of the Bible during our trip to Israel. Other members of our church will be joining the Growth Year students for a tour led by Dr. Benjamin Foreman.
Dr. Foreman has a master’s degree in OT history from the Hebrew University and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland (also in OT). For ten years he taught historical geography and biblical history at The Master’s University extension campus in Jerusalem (called IBEX). His scholarly interest focuses on the use of metaphor in the Hebrew Bible and his Ph.D. dissertation was published as a book in 2011. He continues to write and publish in academic journals because he believes that evangelicals should have a voice in the scholarly community. He and his wife Yael have three children: Yair, Jonathan, and Odeliah.
California
The Anthem Growth Year is located near the beach, the mountains, Los Angeles, and many other popular sites. Through a variety of day and overnight trips, students will experience the culture and diversity of California. These trips will include excursions to various landmarks and venues in the Los Angeles area.
In preparation for the international missions trips, students will sharpen their planning and leadership skills by designing and preparing for a weekend road trip throughout the Western US.
